Our retirement apartments are arranged on the ground and second-floor. We have
the highest nurse-to-resident ratio, and some of the largest rooms in the province.
All rooms have been designed with comfort and quality in mind and an

Jeanne Nimmo

I am the owner of The Village. My husband and I have owned The Village for 27 years, but unfortunately, he passed away 18 months ago. My interests include reading, watching TV and knitting. I have 2 sons and 5 grandchildren. I grew up in Zambia and moved to Durban in 1973 where we lived for 4 years. After a few more moves we finally returned to Durban in 1994 when we purchased The Village and have been here ever since.

Maria Dreyer

I trained at the old Far East Rand Hospital from 1973 to 1976 and passed cum laude, and have been nursing ever since. I have experience in all different areas of nursing. Recent work experience at Westville Life Hospital for numerous years, where I also did my orthopaedic course and worked as unit manager there. I loved it as we dealt with many geriatric patients for whom I have a passion.

My name is Thandiwe Linda, Thandi for short. I started working for The Village in September 1998. Besides working at The Village I am also a really good seamstress. I love reading, cooking and baking too.

Lendyll Govender (Pam)

I am Lendyll Govender, and I commenced at The Village on the 1st December 2023 as Office & Financial Administrator. I was previously employed at Tafta (Senior Executive Administrator) and Ima Care Centre (Admin/Accounts Clerk) and this experience has taught me to deal with different levels of people and caring for the elderly which installed me with confidence to persevere. My areas of strength are good personality, leadership, communication, patience and to embrace changes and challenges. “Aging Is not lost youth but a new stage of opportunity and strength”.
